Shirdi Sai Baba Live Darshan

According to Shirdi Trust, on the average of 25000 people visit the temple every day and during the festive seasons you can expect more than 100000 (1 lakhs) devotes to the temple. During the festive season, devotes also wait for hours to pay tribute to Sai and get his blessings.

Temple Background:

Samadhi Mandir also called as Wada, was built where Sai baba grew flowers. In the early days, Sai Baba directly involves in growing the plants and watering the plants. Bapusaheb Booty is mentioned as a millionaire in the Sai Satcharitra. Baba appeared in some of the devotee’s dreams and insisted he build a temple and a house in the garden area.

The construction work began in the year 1915. When Sai baba used to pass the temple, he usually says “When the temple is ready, we need to inhabit it”. In 1918 Sai Baba felt ill and devotes started to worry. On 15th October 1918, baba left his holy body saying I am not feeling well and take me to the Wada. Sai baba was carried to the “Wada” and buried there, now it’s called Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir.

During earlier days, devotes visited Sai baba with garlands and flowers. In 1900 Mahadeo Chandorkar son of Nanasaheb Chandorkar started performing Pooja of Shri Sai.

Later, devotes started to apply Sandal Paste to the Sai Baba’s forehead and worship him. Earlier, there were a few aartis composed by Das Ganu and Adkar.

J. Bhisma a local resident offered Sai Baba five ladoos on his request.
