About The Temple:
According to History, Bhadrachalam Temple was built by Gopanna the Tahasildar of Bhadrachalam during 17th century using the government treasury. For using the government money, he was imprisoned in a dungeon at Golconda. It’s believed that lord Rama repays his debt to the sultan and released Gopanna from the prison. Gopanna then became Bhadrachala Ramadasa and went on to compose innumerable songs in praise of Rama.
